While You Were Out…1/31 – 2/4

Yup, the Super Bowl is almost upon us and it’s pretty effen snow, cold, icy and more here in lovely Dallas. If it’s any consolation, fans of both the Packers and Steelers should feel right at home. Hey boys, don’t say the Big D never did anything for you:P

This week we had some good trailers, news bits and if you missed any of it, here’s some of the more noteworthy items. So if you’re snowed in like us (yes Castor, 3 inches can debilitate an entire city if you don’t have the man power or utilities to clear the roads) please allow yourself the time to catch you up on this week while you enjoy some hot coco…or scotch. What? A man’s gotta do something to keep warm right? Enjoy!

Fans of Marvel (Aiden I know you’re a D.C. for life) who are exited about Joe Johnston’s Captain America: The First Avenger, please enjoy this and other good looking photos of “Cap” from Gordon and the Whale (via Empire):

Now I have to say of all the actors out there right now I am really impressed with Chris Messina. He was really the best part about Devil (which was actually a pretty decent thriller) and I even put him as a character in a story I wrote for the Anomalous Material’s Hollywood Fantasy Draft (though his character could have been greatly imprved upon…my bad Chris). I think he’s one of the next in line of breakout actors. Will it be with this? Who knows, but I like it!

Ethan Anderton of First Showing has made it back from his first trip to the Sundance Festival (btw, great coverage from you and Alex!!) One of the films at the festival making getting some good buzz was for the Paul Giamatti’s Win Win. It’s no Vision Quest, or even Legendary, but it looks like a lot of fun. Can’t wait to see it myself.

For those of you who haven’t been keeping up on the news in Egypt, click below to be taken to a pictograph from /Film to help you break it down…using the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark to explain it all:

Now for a bit of movie related merchandise, this time in the form of neat t-shirt designs. Inspired by Hot Fuzz and Inception, these are just some of the latest offerings from Dark Bunny Tees. Have a look at the other cool ones they have. So many cool shirts, it’s tough to pick just one!

So that wraps up this week’s wrap up. Redundant? Yes but it’s Friday and I have a snow day. Whoo-hoo. But I’ll ask you all…See anything you like? Anyone have any Super Bowl predictions? Looking forward to the movie teasers in the commercials??

Well, stay warm everyone. See you next week!

Hahaha. Thanks for the surprise plug, man. I’ll still be seeing Cap though, don’t you worry. DC can’t have all the love.

Yeah, and by the looks of that Super Bowl spot I’d say that’s the Marvel film I’m most looking forward to. It’s like all the elements in The Rocketeer just no rocketpack:P
