Tarsem Singh's 'Untitled Snow White' Revealed As 'Mirror Mirror'

Relativity Media announced today that the long-awaited title for its upcoming spectacular re-imagining of the classic Snow White fairy tale is Mirror Mirror. Filming for the comedy action adventure wrapped in mid-September under the stylish direction of Tarsem Singh (Immortals, The Cell). The newly titled film Mirror Mirror stars breakout star Lily Collins (The Blind Side) as an exiled princess who enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright and Oscar-winner Julia Roberts as an evil Queen who steals control of a kingdom, in a magical adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.  The film also stars Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as the object of their affection, Prince Andrew Alcott, and Nathan Lane (The Birdcage) as the hapless and bungling servant to the Queen.

Rounding out the cast are Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings), Mare Winningham, Michael Lerner and Mark Povinelli, Jordan Prentice, Danny Woodburn, Sebastian Saraceno, Ronald Lee Clark, Martin Klebba and Joey Gnoffo as the Seven Dwarfs. Mirror Mirror’s script was written by Melisa Wallack (Meet Bill) and Jason Keller (Machine Gun Preacher).

Relativity Media has set Mirror Mirror for theatrical release next year on March 16, 2012. I’m not sure what to make of it yet but knowing Tarsem Singh’s past works, at the very least it will be astonishingly detailed and gorgeous. What do you think? Anyone interested in this, or the other Snow White film (which to me does look a bit more enticing)  in the works??

Having seen what he did with The Fall (probably the most visually epic and stunning film I’ve ever seen) I’m itching to catch the Immortals this weekend.

Definitely will see this more on the back of the director than the story.
